Ian Fletcher - Immediate Past Chair

Ian Fletcher is the Vice President of External Affairs at BHP Billiton where he is responsible for coordinating the company's dealings with the West Australian and Local Governments for the Aluminium (WAPL), Iron Ore, Petroleum, Stainless Steel Materials and Uranium CSGs that operate in Western Australia. Ian's role has expanded over the years to also include, investor and media relations.

Ian has over 30 years experience in local, state and federal government, working in the Commonwealth departments of Social Security, Customs, Community Services and Health where he held positions of First Assistant Secretary and State Director in Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria. Ian was Chief of Staff to Western Australian Premier, Hon. Richard Court AC, from 1993 to 1999.

Ian is a member of the CCIWA Council, is a non-executive director of the Committee for Perth and Australian Institute of Management and is a Trustee of CEDA. Ian is also a Justice of the Peace, a Churchill Fellow and a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
