Welcome to the inaugural Miners' Promise Legacy Scheme.
To finally see the Miners' Promise become a reality is a dream come true for me. Nineteen years ago I lost my husband in a mining accident and for seven years after his death I was left, with very little support, to deal with the inevitable aftermath of that traumatic event.
The Miners' Promise has been created to assist families, like mine, who are confronted with the death or permanent disability of the family's primary income earner.
The main objective of the Miners' Promise is to deliver financial assistance and support services to families in need. In essence, Miners' Promise will ensure that no dependent feels like they are alone during a time when support is so crucial.
I urge you to join the Miners' Promise and assist to Keep the Commitment to your mining colleagues. By becoming a member you pledge to assist and support the families of your co-workers in the Western Australia mining industry.
This initiative is dedicated to all those families who have lost loved ones in mining accidents.
